Sam researches the direct and indirect impacts of various energy systems relative to their alternatives. This has involved simulation of the systems at various levels of detail and aggregation in order to assess their interactions. His focus within UKERC is industrial energy demand and other drivers for GHG emissions. Previously, his research has investigated bioenergy, domestic heating, and resource efficiency. He works at the University of Bath.
