Dr Pei-Hao Li is a senior research fellow at UCL Energy Institute.
He has extensive research experiences in applying energy system modelling techniques to tackle challenging energy-related issues, such as intermittency of variable renewable energy, demand-side response, technology choices, etc. His past works contribute to key policy-makings, such as 5th Carbon Budget and long-term energy planning for Taiwan. He also built/maintained/improved several energy models, including UK TIMES, BRAIN-Energy, Taiwan TIMES, Taiwan 2050 Calculator, and SEE 2050 Carbon Calculator, for academic research, policy-making and public engagement.
Currently, his research focuses on the investigation of the influences of non-optimal decision-makings, such as consumer behaviour and power plant investments, on the whole energy systems using agent-based modelling and machine learning/deep-learning techniques.
