This Working Paper aims to review existing estimates of the UK biomass resource base and identify the most important assumptions and uncertainties that affect estimates of resource potential. The focus of the paper is limited to the domestically produced feedstocks expected to make a contribution to the 2050 bioenergy resource base. These are: forest materials, agricultural residues and energy crops. Although not the primary focus of this report, wastes materials are also considered.
