The Business and Trade Sub Committee on Economic Security, Arms and Export Controls launched an inquiry to consider how domestic production and trade can support a secure supply of critical minerals for UK industry, and assess the likely impact of the proposals set out in the Government’s strategy.

The Committee welcomed written submissions that addressed a range of questions around critical minerals supply, including on ambitions and delivery, the domestic supply chain, industrial resilience and trade and diversification.

The UK Energy Research Centre provided a response to the consultation. Researchers from our Geopolitics, Energy Security & Resilience of Net Zero Theme contributed to a number of questions posed by the committee.
