This project will provide a holistic assessment of possible UK energy system futures, considering the key uncertainties and trade-offs between competing priorities and energy policy goals.
The main aim is to support other projects in the pathways theme in two ways. First, the project team is carrying out a detailed assessment of the existing energy scenarios literature. Second, they are leading the development of new scenarios to answer specific questions in consultation with researchers from across the UKERC research programme.
Initial activities include scenario development work for the Security of UK Energy Futures project and collaboration with the Energy Pathways and Valuing Natural Capital project.
