On Monday 31 March, Rob Gross, Director of the UK Energy Research Centre, took part in a high-level roundtable discussion with Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero Michael Shanks, leading academics, and think tanks. The discussion focused on the forthcoming decision on zonal pricing and broader market reform.
Drawing on insights from our recent work on zonal pricing, Rob emphasised the importance of decisions on zonal pricing and how ongoing uncertainty could affect future Contracts for Difference (CfD) allocation rounds. The debate highlighted the need for clear policy direction to support a stable and efficient energy market.
