University of York

Kyle is a Research Associate in the Departments of Social Policy and Social Work at the University of York, where he works on UKERC-funded research exploring climate change politics in the UK.

He is an interdisciplinary social scientist whose research interests lie at the intersection of environmental politics, climate change adaptation, migration, marginalization, social vulnerability, and resilience. His previous research has examined climate change-implicated displacement among nomadic pastoralists in Mongolia, community resilience and humanitarian policy among Tibetan refugees in Nepal, and participatory approaches to mental health research with Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities in the UK.

He holds a PhD in Applied Social Sciences from Edinburgh Napier University, a Master of Public Health in Disaster Management from the University of Georgia, as well as a BA in Anthropology with minors in philosophy and comparative literature. His work draws on ethnographic, qualitative, and participatory research methods, alongside policy analysis, to investigate how communities experience and respond to environmental and social change.
