This Meeting Report summarises a workshop held in September 2006 at Somerville College, University of Oxford, which was organised to assess the potential for new EU member states to unlock their potential for energy efficiency improvements and greenhouse gas emission (GHG) reductions.
To achieve this, the workshop brought together key individuals from the Central and Eastern European countries, leading figures in the UK energy research community and wider stakeholders involved in investment schemes, the flexible mechanisms and local emission trading.
