Solar Commission Report
Regen has run the Solar Commission, a project that has been set up as part of the UKERC Whole Systems Network Fund. This report presents the conclusions of the Commission.
This project aims to stimulate new thinking and encourage collaboration between academics, industry and system operators on the role of solar in the UK energy system and Industrial Strategy. The findings will be used to inform and influence decision makers. The project will engage new voices and maximise female representation and links to the Entrepreneurial Women in Renewables initiative.
Two of the partners, Prof Alison Walker (University of Bath) and Prof Mike Walls (Loughborough University), are leading solar scientists who also undertake national and European and international leadership roles in solar science; Mike Walls leads the recently created Network+ Solar initiative. The third partner, Regen, is a not-for-profit organisation that offers independent expert advice on all aspects of sustainable energy delivery; Regen has the technical, financial and policy knowledge to support a range of public and private sector organisations to make the most of their clean energy opportunities.
This project is the joint effort of Regen, CDT Solar & SuperSolar Network
