When someone visits this website we use a third-party service (Google Analytics) to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone.

We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this.

Hotjar

We use a tool called Hotjar to record your screen when you are using the website. It captures the following information: 

  • The country you are visiting from so that we understand where you are
  • Your browser and version in case there are any bugs that we need to fix (sites perform slightly differently on different browsers)
  • A short clip of the UKERC site as you navigate it. We don’t capture anything else on your screen, or anything when you leave the website
  • We use this tool to inform how we can make the site better and serve user needs.
