Watch the UKERC, IEA and EDRC Webinar: Reducing Energy Demand – A UK Success Story?

In this webinar, lead authors of the International Energy Agency’s Energy Efficiency 2024 report outlined key findings, with a special focus on the report’s insights on recent successes and challenges in UK energy efficiency policy.

The overall report highlights global energy efficiency trends spanning policy, investment and technology deployment. It focuses in particular on the urgent need to accelerate improvements to meet the goal of doubling the annual rate of improvement in energy intensity, agreed by governments at COP28.

Speakers include:

  • Professor Nick Eyre – Professor of Energy and Climate Policy at the Environmental Change Institute; formerly Director of the Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions (CREDS); member of the UKERC Advisory Board.
  • Professor Karen Turner – UKERC researcher; equity theme lead at EDRC; director of the Centre for Energy Policy at the University of Strathclyde.
