UK businesses, such as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the manufacturing industry, have been hit hard since 2021 by the extraordinary increase in global energy prices. Although prices have come down in recent months, they are still more than double their pre-2021 values. In 2023, businesses are expected to cope with these increases and stay competitive in the context of price volatility.
