UKERC Researcher Christian Calvillo participated in the Scottish Affairs Select Committee oral evidence session on energy markets and policy in February 2025. He showcased work from UKERC om the following topics:

• The impact of renewables on energy prices: Christian talked about the decreased dependency on gas price signals as more renewables come online.
• The cost of netowrk curtailment: how network upgrades and the expansion of infrastructure can reduced the costs of curtailment, which can pass savings onto household bills.
• Achieving the £300 bill reduction target: the panel discussed the practical steps to achieving this goal by the end of Parliament.
