We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Joanne Wade OBE as the new Chair of UKERC’s Advisory Board.
Joanne has over 30 years’ experience in the sustainable energy sector and is currently Chief Strategic Advisor at the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE). Joanne is a Trustee of the Energy Institute, member of the Greater London Authority’s Fuel Poverty Partnership and a non-executive director at the Energy Saving Trust. Joanne is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London. Previous roles include Chief Executive of the Association for the Conservation of Energy, and CEO of Impetus Consulting. Joanne chaired UKERC’s Research Committee since 2020 and has held a range of advisory positions across academia and the voluntary sector, including chairing the Advisory Board for CREDS. She received an OBE for services to energy efficiency in the 2018 New Year’s Honours.

Joanne is taking up the role, following on from Keith MacLean OBE, who was chair from 2015 and stepped down at the end of 2022.
