On Friday 9 May, The Centre of Energy Policy (CEP) at the University of Strathclyde was commended in Scottish Parliament for 10 years of work in a parliamentary motion.
The Centre has been an instrumental part of UKERC’s independent whole systems research for a sustainable energy future. Submitted by Sarah Boyack (Labour), MSP for Lothian, the motion said:
“That the Parliament congratulates the Centre for Energy Policy at the University of Strathclyde on celebrating 10 years of operation since its official launch in May 2015; believes that the public policy framing of energy and net zero challenges that the Centre brings is critical to ensuring transitions that deliver sustainable and more equitable prosperity; recognises the Centre’s contribution to decision-making at Scottish and UK levels, and supports its ongoing efforts to inform evidence-based energy and climate policy through work as part of the Energy Demand Research Centre (EDRC), UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) and Ocean REFuel research programme.”
UKERC would also like to congratulate CEP for 10 years of research to further our understanding of sustainable energy systems.
