Resource Consumption footprint

The Environment Agency’s role is to create a better place for people and wildlife. As well as regulating and supporting businesses and organisations to protect and improve the environment and achieve sustainable growth, the EA itself needs to act urgently to tackle our own negative impacts on the planet.

The Environment Agency (EA) has an ambitious sustainability strategy eMission2030 which addresses the 4 pillars of sustainability:

Responding to the climate emergency – net zero by 2030

Optimising thier use of resources – moving from a linear to a circular business model

Delivering environmental net gain

Benefitting people and communities – social value

This brief focuses on b) resource optimisation and their goal to move from a linear to a circular economy model.

The EA needs to understand what it currently uses in terms of resources so that it can measure it’s progress.
