Talking Home Energy Injustice: Rethinking the Language of Inequality

We are delighted to invite you to a webinar on home energy injustices at the global scale. We will bring together scholars, practitioners and community members interested in the topic. In line with the findings of a recent Energy Demand Research Centre (EDRC) Perspective published in Nature Energy, we will critically consider of the dominant vocabulary on home energy injustices. We argue that future debates on the inability to secure needed energy in the home should focus on the structural challenges imposed by wider societal and political choices. We will investigate the ways in which energy injustices in the home are framed in scientific and policy vocabularies, as a key step towards bold and equitable global action. As such, the gathering will also promote dialogue and foster connections among those working at the intersection of energy and climate transitions, social equity and housing. Whether you’re already active in this area or newly curious, this is an opportunity to help shape a growing network of interest and collaboration.
