This event marks the publication of Professor Michael Bradshaw’s new book: The Geopolitics of Energy System Transformation: Managing the Messy Mix, (publication date 30th January 2026, open access).
Across the day we will explore and discuss some of the key geopolitical events of the moment, current political and policy responses, and how they inter-relate with energy system transformations. The conference brings together a diverse range of interested stakeholders from academia, business, think-tanks and the UK Government.

The capacity is limited, and the event is by invitation only, but a number of places have been set aside for UKERC researchers, and there is funding available to support the attendance of Early Career Researchers.
