This conference will consider the way forward for managing competing demands on land use in England, examining key issues following the Government’s recently published Land Use Framework for England.

It will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry representatives and wider stakeholders to assess how the Framework’s principles can be applied in practice across sectors, and how competing demands on land can be balanced effectively.

Discussion is expected to focus on priorities for land use, governance and coordination, long‑term planning towards the 2030 and 2050 milestones, and arrangements for decision‑making, accountability and delivery. While the Framework has been widely welcomed for its vision, concerns remain around implementation, responsibilities and the incentives needed to support change.
