Launch of the People, Place and Energy Research Centre with a public lecture by Professor Peter Newell, 18th June.

The People, Place and Energy Research Centre (PPERC) will officially launch on 18 June, 3.00–5.30pm, at the University of Manchester, bringing together researchers, practitioners and policy audiences to explore the interconnected climate and energy crises.
The event will introduce PPERC’s vision and work, including the presentation of its new position paper, Critical Reflections on the Dual Climate and Energy Crises, with a response from Nannette Youssef (Runnymede Trust). The launch will feature a keynote lecture by Professor Peter Newell (University of Sussex) on The Political Economies of Fossil Fuel Phase Out, followed by Q&A.
The afternoon will conclude with a drinks and networking reception. Attendance is available in person or online, with advance registration required via Eventbrite.
