Implementing local heat strategies: Practical learning from pioneer cities

Join the SHIFFT Project for an afternoon where they will discuss and hear about ways to accelerate city heat transitions with local governments, housing associations, and researchers who have been part of the SHIFFT Project (, as well as their guest speaker Jess Britton.

This public event will share learnings from the SHIFFT Project and discuss how they might support cities in creating and implementing a strategy to decarbonise their buildings and heat system. Cities face a challenge in that the heat transition demands action at the local level, but local governments often have constrained capacity to take action. Local government will need powers and resource from higher levels, but this event is focused on making the most of the levers available to local government now.
