Join us for the launch of our new report – From Risk to Resilience: Advancing visibility and performance across the electricity network. Written by Imperial College London’s Dr Aidan Rhodes and Dr Fei Teng, experts in Energy Policy and Intelligent Energy Systems respectively, and delivered via Imperial Consultants.

Overview of the report:

The authors assess the current challenges facing DNOs, from extreme weather to aging assets and the electrification drive, and investigates via quantitative modelling new digital technologies, such as line-sensing, which could improve resilience at lower costs. They examine both the ED2 and the upcoming ED3 price-control regulatory frameworks for their abilities to incentivise the adoption of new digital technologies and make several key policy recommendations:

  • Strengthen Incentives to Drive Long-Term Resilience
  • Support Investment in High-impact Technologies
  • Improve Transparency and Accountability
  • Provide a Clearer Strategic Direction from Government

What to expect at the launch:
