Electricity markets in the UK – next steps for the Capacity Market, the Contracts for Difference regime, and supporting low-carbon electricity generation

This conference will examine the future for electricity markets in the UK and the UK’s Electricity Market Reform (EMR) programme.

It will be a timely opportunity for key stakeholders and policymakers to consider next steps for the Capacity Market (CM) and the Contracts for Difference (CfD) regime in light of recent developments – including the series of consultations on proposals to support the move towards low-carbon electricity generation alongside wider net-zero ambitions.

The Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum are pleased to be able to include keynote sessions with Dr Professor Keith Bell, Co-Director, UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC); Member, Climate Change Committee; and Power Sector Champion, University of Strathclyde; Kathryn Bird, Head of Capacity Market Policy, Electricity Security and Market Evolution team, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; Sarah Keay-Bright, Senior Advisor Markets, Policy and Regulation, Energy Systems Catapult; and Tom Corcut, Deputy Director of Wholesale Markets & Commercial, Ofgem.
