Clean Energy and Innovate UK ICURe

24 June 2026. 13:00

The EPSRC Clean Energy team are exploring a partnership with Innovate UK ICURe to deliver a sector-specific cohort for our research community.

The UK’s path to net zero by 2050 depends on research moving from lab to deployment at pace. EPSRC’s Clean Energy portfolio is producing some of the work that will get us there, across hydrogen, carbon capture, energy networks, storage, nuclear, renewables and whole-system design. The question for many research teams is what happens next, and whether there is a credible route from a strong research result to something that reaches industry, infrastructure and end users. ICURe Engage and Discover are designed for exactly that question.

As a first step, EPSRC are running an introductory webinar on 24 June for researchers to find out more about the ICURe programme, with a focus on ICURe Engage and ICURe Discover.

The session will also help us gauge interest across the Clean Energy community, which will shape what we run and when.

The webinar is open to early-career researchers, including postdoctoral researchers, PhD students, research master’s students and technicians, as well as PIs and centre leads who want to understand the offer on behalf of their teams.

Register for the webinar on 24 June
