The role

The School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering (EEME) is seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in energy efficiency in future telecommunication systems.  The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the teaching and research portfolio of the School.  The successful candidate will be an active member of the High Performance Networks (HPN) group and the Smart Internet Lab. 

What will you be doing?

The postholder will engage in teaching across the wide discipline of engineering and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects.  In research, the postholder will secure and lead industrially motivated projects that drive forward the underpinning science of real-world problems, demanded by a range of stakeholders, in the broad area of system-level energy efficiency in networking and network management.  

You should apply if

You will have a good first degree in physics, electrical and electronic engineering, computer engineering/science, or another relevant subject, and a PhD or equivalent experience in communication networks or a closely related field.  You will have the ability to conduct excellent research in energy efficiency in future telecommunication systems, have a clear vision for future research complementing existing research in the Smart Internet Lab and be able to attract research funding from a variety of sources.  You will be able to deliver teaching to engineering students, to be enthused by innovation for student learning, and to tutor, supervise and support individual students well.  You will be a team player and collaborative researcher, able to interact professionally with our academic and industrial partners.
