Call for Expressions of Interest for UK representatives to EERA Smart Cities or AMPEA Joint Programmes

Are you interested in Smart Cities or advanced materials and processes for energy application (AMPEA), and would you like to connect with like-minded colleagues across Europe? If so, becoming a UK representative within EERA’s joint programmes may be for you.

EERA is the European Energy Research Alliance, the foremost association of energy research institutes in Europe. It hosts numerous EERA Joint Programmes (JPs) concerning different aspects of energy research.

There are currently two vacancies for UK EERA reps to join the EERA Joint Programmes Smart Cities and AMPEA (one rep for each JP), and we are inviting anyone within the UK energy research community who is interested in the role to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

Successful applicants will also be expected to join meetings of all the UK JP reps (usually once or twice yearly) in order that learning from across JPs can be shared. The UK reps’ meetings will be convened by UKERC.

The fees for the UK representative’s membership of the JP will be paid by UKRI via UKERC. The rep will, unfortunately, be expected to pay their own travel and subsistence costs for attendance of meetings, though the option of joining online is expected to be available in most, if not all, cases.

If you are interested in becoming a UK EERA JP rep for one of the two JPs above, please contact UKERC’s Operations Manager Kajsa-Stina Longuere, by 5 pm on 10 June 2022. Please send a short CV and briefly outline, in no more than 500 words, why you are interested in becoming the UK rep and what you can offer in terms of representing the UK energy research community in the JP. In the event of there being more than one EOI for each JP, the UKERC leadership group will make a selection and let you know by 17 June 2022.
