Tedd is a qualified lawyer, academic, and consultant. He is also a board member and strategist in conservation, energy, finance, education, philanthropy, and technology ventures in sub-Saharan Africa, the UK, and the Middle East. He is currently an Oxford Martin Fellow at the Oxford University Martin Programme on Integrating Renewable Energy, which is concerned with mitigating climate change through the transition to low carbon energy systems. The local and practical aspects of his work include examining the legal and regulatory challenges of multi-scalar energy systems (mini, micro, and pico).
His inter-disciplinary research interests focus on international energy law and policy, the just energy transition, sustainable development and governance, and the role of technology in shaping a more sustainable energy future. He has research affiliations with the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London and has also taught and held various multi-disciplinary positions at the Universities of St. Andrews, Cape Town, Michigan, Dundee, and the London School of Economics.
