Serguey Maximov is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Resources, University College London. He has an engineering background and has completed a PhD in Energy Systems at the University of Edinburgh in 2021.
Serguey’s previous research has focused on modelling and optimising energy systems to cost-effectively decarbonise heat and electricity supply. He has experience designing and assessing GHG mitigation policies on renewable energy implementation and energy efficiency in the residential and industrial sectors. Lately, he has expanded his research interest towards understanding how energy policy interacts with investment in renewable energy and how energy markets can operate more efficiently under higher renewable generation scenarios.
