Dr Ruth Bookbinder is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Energy Retrofit and Social Relations in the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds. She holds a PhD in Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds, where her research examined the political economy of energy procurement in South Africa. Her current research explores how the social relations of decision-making in households can inform more effective retrofit policy interventions as part of the UKERC funded ‘Whole Person Whole Place’ project. More broadly her research covers the political economy of energy transitions, institutional change, and the allocation of state resources.
