Neda Trifonova is a research fellow at the University of Aberdeen.
Neda’s research interests include ecosystem modelling and the application of machine learning techniques, such as Bayesian networks, to understand ecological interactions across space and time. Neds is looking at the environmental aspects of offshore renewable energy and climate change, and is interested in natural capital approaches, cumulative and environmental assessments, and evaluation tools for the delivery of environmental net gain and socio-economic benefits.
Before joining the University of Aberdeen, she was a post-doctoral research associate for the University of Miami where she was part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Integrated Ecosystem Assessment Programme for the Gulf of Mexico. Her duties included the development of quantitative and qualitative Bayesian network models for the improved understanding of population dynamics within different ecosystems.
