Louis Fletcher

University of Warwick

Louis joined the University of Warwick as a Research Fellow in late 2022, where he does interdisciplinary work on energy and climate politics. He is currently helping to write a series of ‘integration reports’ on energy security for UKERC that will draw on research and expertise from across the centre. He is also pursuing research trying to get to the bottom of why shale gas development failed in the United Kingdom, as part of the Unconventional Hydrocarbons in the UK Energy System (UKUH) programme.

Before Warwick, Louis was Research Director of a small sustainable finance think tank, writing public interest reports on topics including the target-setting framework of the $130tn Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero, and a scheme supported by the Asian Development Bank to purchase and retire half of the coal-fired generation capacity of South East Asia. Louis completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2020, a study of twentieth century theories of world order.
