James Curwen is UKERC’s Engagement Officer. He joined UKERC in August 2023 after almost four years at UCL’s Institute of Ophthalmology, where he was senior communications officer for the NIHR Moorfields Biomedical Research Centre.
James has worked across communications, engagement and administration for organisations including the Science Museum, the British Museum and the National Trust. He has worked at UCL since 2017, originally as part of the Bartlett faculty team, and from 2018-19 at the UCL Energy Institute. He has also been an English language teacher at the University of Montpellier, and is an alumnus of Edinburgh University, where he studied history of art and architecture.
