Emily is a research associate at Cardiff University, in the Understanding Risk Group. She is interested in many aspects of low-carbon transitions, but particularly risk, resilience, and public perceptions. Her UKERC research looks at energy security and electricity resilience, exploring the end-user impacts of serious supply disruptions. She is also an expert on Negative Emissions Technologies, particularly their social acceptance, policies, and ethics. Her goal is to facilitate genuine two-way public dialogue and engagement in technology development and innovation. She is an Energy-SHIFTS Policy Associate, an adviser to the Royal Academy of Engineering National Policy Centre and UNEP Atmospheric Accelerator programme, a volunteer at the Centre for Sustainable Energy, and is on the editorial board of Frontiers in Climate journal.
