Andrew’s research focuses on energy system economics, electricity markets, and the planning of low-carbon energy systems. His work uses open-source energy system models to examine how market design, infrastructure, and emerging technologies interact during the transition to net zero.
He is the lead developer of PyPSA-GB and has worked on topics including electricity market reform, renewable integration, flexibility, hydrogen, heat decarbonisation, and security of supply. His research combines quantitative modelling with policy analysis and is developed in close collaboration with government, industry, and energy system stakeholders.
